Catching Up { July happenings }

July was a busy month. We had two road trips: one to Pacific Grove for a family reunion and the other to Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks. Rachel had a graduation party and my beautiful mom turned 85!! Here are some snaps.

On July 5-7, we drove up to Pacific Grove for Brian's
family reunion. We stayed at the Pacific Garden Inn. Across the street, was the Asilomar Boardwalk.

Along the boardwalk, we found a pamphlet that described
some flowers you might find. I did find a few.

A little ways down the road, was the Point Pinos Lighthouse.

On July 6th, the reunion was held at the Point Pinos Grill.
The reunion brought together family and friends of
Brian's maternal grandparents,
William Wallace and Martha Merrill Simpson

On our drive home, Brian and I stopped at
Pinnacles National Monument. We entered from the west
and there really wasn't that much to see from this point
without hiking a good distance. So, we walked about
a 1/4 mile to take a few snaps.

When we left the park, we drove south along Metz Road (G 15)
toward King City where we connected with Hwy 101.

On July 13th, we had a graduation party for Rachel.

On July 26 - 29th, we drove to Kings Canyon and camped. What great weather we had! We enjoyed camping, hiking and relaxing.
Our friends, Joanna and Tony joined us for a few days and
took in some sights.

In August of 1975, Brian and I went camping with his family to Sequoia N.P. and had our picture taken on Moro Rock. The ONE snap I really wanted on this trip, was us on Moro Rock. The 1/4 mile, 350+ step climb was worth it!
Thanks to Joanna and Tony for making it happen.
